The Hunger games

The hunger games is about 24 tributes from 12 districts who go and compete in the hunger games where they have to fight for survival and be the last one standing. The main character is Katniss everden from district 12, who’s  sister was originally chosen to represent her district in the hunger games but then Katniss  put her hand up to compete instead of Prim (her little sister). This is definitely a book you can’t put down!!!!

katniss-narrator and district 12’s female tribute. She lives with her mother and her little sister prim. Her father died in a mine explostion.

Peeta-district 12’s male tribute and is also in love with katniss. His father owns a bakery.

Cinna- Katniss stylest and is also the most normal person Katniss has met in the capital.

Rue- Rue is the femal tribute from district 11 and has much need knowledge of plants and trees.

Cato- male tribut from district 2 and is the leadeer of the careers pack.

clove- Clove is the femal tribut from district 2 and is skilled at knife throwing

Foxface-is a red haired tribut girl from district 5 and is described as looking like a fox.

thresh- is the male tribut from district 11.

glimmer- is the femal tribut from district 1 and was a member of the careers  pack. she has soft and silky blonde hair and emrald green eyes.

Gale- Katniss best friend, both their fathers died in a mine explostion. Katniss and Gale hunt together.

Prim- Prim is Katniss younger sister and owns a goat called lady and a cat called buttercup. Prims name was called to go into the hunger games as distric 12’s femal tribut but her sister Katniss took her place.

Effie- Effie is district 12’s escort and hates bad manners.

haymitch- haymitch is Katniss and peetas mentor and is mostly drunk at every second of the day he also won the 50th hunger games.

madge- Madge is the daughter of the mayor for district 12 and gave Katniss the mockingjay badge.

Catching fire

Catching fire is the second book in the hunger games series.

It is not as good as the first, but it was still good.

throughout this book you meet afew more characters

president snow: The President of Panem. He speaks to Katniss face-to-face for the first time at the beginning of Catching Fire. President Snow is described as having very puffy lips which was most likely from an appearance altering operation that is very popular in the Capitol. 

finnick odair: The male tribute from District 4. He won the 65th hunger games by using a net he wove himself and a trident he received as a gift from sponsors; district 4’s trade is fishing.

Mags: the female tribute from district 4, she is around 80 and volunteered to take the place of another young girl.

johanna: the female tribute from district 7 and won one of the previous hunger games.

beete: the male tribute from district 3, he is very good with wire and is a very good inventor.

wiress: wiress is the female tribute  from district 3 and was very good friends with beete.

enobaria: she is the female tribute from district 2,she is very strong and is a big threat in the arena.
